STOCKHOLM, May 31 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ –
Intentia International AB (publ) (XSSE: INT B), the global ERP solutions
provider, has aligned itself to accelerate the marketing and delivery of its
Java-based Intentia Application Suite. The company is taking advantage of the
inherent benefits of Java, including improved integration and development
combined with delivery resources, to build market share in key target
industries.
The new marketing-led structure enables Intentia to be even closer to
customers’ needs and market requirements. At the core of this organization are
the Industry Marketing and Product Marketing groups, which are jointly
responsible for creating the business cases for new solutions and
applications, specifying their content, and taking them to market.
Overseeing both groups is a new Product Board headed by Chief Marketing
Officer Allan Davies. The Product Board combines senior marketing, sales,
product development, delivery and service managers who have the task of
reviewing and approving all new initiatives on a monthly basis and authorizing
activities under a build, buy or partner system.
The new Intentia organization is the direct result of a "quiet revolution"
within the company during the past 12 months under the stewardship of CEO
Bertrand Sciard. In addition to becoming a market-driven organization,
Intentia has recently increased software development capacity, increased the
rate at which it grows the business (including a major assault on the US
market), announced a number of partnerships expanding its reach in China, and
greatly improved support for customers.
The company recently announced an agreement with IBM and Symphony Services
to increase application development capacity and strengthen customer support
by adding offshore resources to existing capabilities. In addition, the
company has established a third-party partner channel for the sale and
implementation of Intentia Application Suite, and it has set up a new global
Support and Delivery organization under the leadership of Guenther Tolkmit,
former senior vice president at SAP.
At the center of Intentia’s strategic growth strategy are the new industry
and product marketing groups that connect customers, the market and partner
channels, and research and development. The industry marketing group is headed
by Vice President John Gledhill. This group is responsible for defining
industry roadmaps and working closely with customers and research and
development to deliver the solutions for Intentia’s strategic markets: food
and beverage, fashion, wholesale distribution, and asset intensive industries.
The Product Marketing group, headed by Vice President Martin Hill, is
responsible for the same process across Intentia’s functional product groups
that deliver the core make, move and maintain capabilities. These include
applications for enterprise performance management, customer and supplier
management, supply chain planning, manufacturing, maintenance and service.
Hill’s team sets the direction for the Intentia technology stack including
user, middleware, database and platform strategies. Both teams work closely
with the Support and Delivery group, which is responsible for the quality of
product delivery, support and maintenance.
"We have become a pull-driven organization," Davies says. "We are wholly
driven by the demands of our customers and the market. During the past 12
months in particular, we have stepped outside the organization in order to
take on an outside-in approach to the business. This has given us an entirely
new perspective that is already being translated into a more powerful and
better-defined solution for customers in our core markets."
