"In today’s TV market, manufacturers are faced with significant time to
market issues in both the LCD TV and PTV markets," said Ben Silva VP World
Wide Sales, Tvia, Inc. "Our turnkey Reference Design Kits ("RDK") include the
software applications, hardware, sample boards, PCB layout, BOM (bill of
material), schematics, documentation, and extensive SDK all based on the
TrueView 5600 and 5700 chipsets. This eliminates the lengthy design cycle by
offering everything a manufacturer needs to go directly to PP (Pre/Pilot
Production) and MP (Mass Production) in DTV for both HD/SD LCD-TV and HD/SD
PTV markets." The kits include 1-2 reference design boards, BOM, complete set
of software applications, tuner codes and tables for both EU and NTSC markets,
OSD, remote control, and extensive SDK, and many other additional feature
integrations. Also included is the PCB layout and schematics for easy
modification to fit any TV chassis.
Tvia offers RDKs in both European (EU) and North American versions. The EU
version supports all European TV standards, including such important features
as SCART, 500-page Teletext, and complete tuner integration with frequency-
based channel tuning and search. The North American RDK comes with a complete
set of features required for the NA market, including implementation of close
caption and V-chip. The RDKs thus offer all of the necessary features to
enable manufacturers to go directly to market with either or both a North
American and/or EU version immediately.
Tvia’s RDKs for LCD-TV and PTV are currently being used by several of the
world’s leading TV manufacturers worldwide.
Tvia’s TV System Design Center located in Shenzhen, China is considered to
be one of the world’s most advanced centers for LCD, PDP and PTV design, and
also offers complete customization of the RDKs to meet any TV manufacturer’s
specific requirements, special features, and form factors. Tvia’s TV System
Design Center boasts a 30-day or less turnaround time on any custom TV design,
including custom 64-bit OSD, 2D graphics with alpha blending, main board
integration, with various input and output configuration types including
component, composite, S-Video, DVI, HDMI and a wide variety of other special
features. In most cases, Tvia’s design center enables TV manufacturers to go
directly to PP within 30 days. Furthermore, Tvia’s LCD RDK provides image
optimization for LCD panels from Sharp, Samsung, CMO, AU and LG Philips.
"We are very proud of our Turnkey TV Design Kits. We listened to the
market, executed on their demands, and ultimately provided the total solution
they required. By doing so, we allow our customers to reduce their time-to-
market and eliminate the need for costly, time-consuming design cycles," said
Eli Porat, CEO, Tvia, Inc. "The market has changed. It is no longer about who
has the most integrated chip, it is now about becoming a technology design
partner with your customer, helping them to produce complete TV solutions at
the same or lower costs than they were producing before, while reducing the
design time of 6-8 months, down to 45 days or less," said Mr. Porat.
