Hewitt Associates (NYSE: HEW), a global human resources services firm,
today released preliminary results from its annual Asia Pacific Salary Increase
survey, which reveals the following increases by country:
Australia 4.2% Malaysia 5.4%
China 8.1% Philippines 8.1%
Hong Kong 3.4% Singapore 4.0%
India 14.0% Taiwan 4.2%
Japan 2.8% Thailand 6.5%
Korea 7.1%

said of this year’s findings, "Business and human resources professionals
across Asia continue to look for meaningful ways of managing rapid business
growth amidst high attrition and challenges in attracting and retaining
talent. Organizations are further strengthening their reward management
practices and increasingly focusing on pay for performance to retain talent and
enhance overall productivity."

capture larger customer bases around the world, India and China continue to be
strong favorites. It is expected these countries will continue to drive and

attention, salary increases in these markets are expected to be among the
highest in the region."
Complete results from Hewitt’s Salary Increase survey, which measures
actual and projected salary increases and compensation practices for five
specific job categories, namely Senior/Top management, Manager,
Professional/Supervisor/Technical, Clerical/Support, and Manual workers, will
be available in mid-October. It is the most comprehensive and detailed study of
salary trends and compensation practices of its kind.
