PLANO, Texas, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ –
Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE: PER) announced today that it has been
ranked first among technology companies in the 2005 InformationWeek 500
corporate rankings of most innovative users of information technology. The
company ranked 6th among all companies in all categories — up from 52nd last
year. The annual InformationWeek 500 evaluates and ranks the top 500
corporations in terms of the power of innovation in information technology,
rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
"At Perot Systems, innovation is a continuous process and key
differentiator for us in the global markets," said Mike McClaskey, vice
president, Infrastructure Solutions and chief information officer. "This
ranking not only validates how important and how real innovation is to us as a
company, but more importantly, how committed we are to creating innovative
solutions for our customers — anywhere in the world."
As a part of the 2005 InformationWeek 500 evaluation and ranking process,
Perot Systems presented a detailed application that also emphasized its
business-technology strategies — a key component of best practice technology
innovation. The application provided valuable insight into five company
practices: process optimization, customer intimacy, performance management,
productivity and human capital — all of which lay the foundation for Perot
Systems’ business offerings to customers worldwide.
Other areas that contributed to Perot Systems’ high ranking included the
ability to: improve processes, increase efficiencies, align closely with
business goals, measure IT effectiveness and build high-caliber technology
teams.
