TOKYO, Nov.30/KYODO JBN–
NTT Communications (NTT Com) was presented the top honor for Best Managed
Service at the annual World Communication Awards in London on November 28, 2007.
As the first Asian carrier to earn this coveted award, NTT Com topped other
shortlist companies including Orange Business Service, BT, Verizon Business,
Vanco, and Easynet.
The World Communication Awards, presented by the influential business media
company Terrapinn, recognize outstanding achievements in the telecommunications
and IT industries. This year approximately 50 major carriers and vendors were
nominated for awards in 12 categories.
According to the statement issued by Terrapinn, "NTT [Com] stands out in this
category because in just two years it has built an ICT business service for
multinational enterprises. The judges pointed out that customer examples are
plentiful, and these confirm their experience of service consistency. ‘This
entry gives good examples of new services including network acceleration and
security integration, which show NTT [Com] is really extending its range of ICT
capability,’said one."
The statement also noted, "An interactive facility enables users to communicate
instructions to NTT [Com] to modify/add/change specifications. Users can also
self-generate tailored reports, follow trouble ticketing progress, and check
bills — current and historical. In addition, there is a 24/7 service
performance monitor that can be viewed in real time."
Executive Vice President Osamu Inoue of NTT Com commented, "NTT Com has won WCA
awards for Best Global Carrier (2004), Best Customer Care (2005) and now Best
Managed Service, which is like winning a Triple Crown in our industry. We are
deeply honored to be continually recognized by the prestigious World
Communication Awards program. We believe that this award is a testament to the
credibility of our services and our continuing commitment to providing
world-class, high-quality services."
