KONE has received a major order to supply all elevators and escalators for
a new multi-purpose development in Perth, Australia. The building, better known
as ‘One40William’ is being built on the new Mandurah Line underground City
Station, with two of the escalators rising from the station into the building’s
main lobby.

The order includes eight KONE Alta(TM) elevators with KONE Destination
Control System (DCS) technology, which optimizes the traveling time by
directing passengers to a specific elevator. The building will be further
serviced by five machine-room-less KONE MonoSpace(R) Special elevators and
various KONE MonoSpace(R) Standard elevators in adjoining heritage buildings
retained on the site.

The One40William Street building project will be built in accordance with
environmentally sustainable design principles and is expected to become
Western Australia’s first five star ‘Green Star’ building. The Green Star
Certification is a comprehensive environmental rating scheme in Australia that
evaluates the environmental design and achievement of a building.

Developed by CBus Property, the new 23-storey building will feature
office, commercial and retail space. Construction is expected to be completed
in 2010 by the building contractor Probuild Constructions.
Installation of KONE’s equipment will start in January 2009 and is
scheduled to be completed in June 2010.
